Governance
High quality integrated corporate governance is an essential underpinning for our organisation.
We have dedicated leads for each governance area, i.e. financial, information, management and clinical.
Each practice has a management team with clear responsibilities comprising a lead GP, Practice Manager and Lead Nurse.
On a regional level there are Regional Managers and Medical Directors.
At head office level there is the Organisational Medical Director, the Director of Clinical Services (also responsible for training and education), the Head of Operations, Director of Finance and the associate directors for HR, Finance, operations and Governance.
Our accounts are being audited externally.
Our Clinical Governance Committee meets every 3 months. This is made up of the Medical and Clinical Services Directors, the Associate Director of Governance and the Head of Operations.
Here we review all reports of significant untoward incidents (SUI) as well as minutes from clinical meetings, new emerging evidence and literature.
Our findings are then being disseminated and shared with the whole organisation and also available through our intranet to authorised users.
Our final strand of governance is the way we involve our patients and our high levels of transparency which includes a Malling Health blog.
There are regular performance review meetings with the PCTs where both sides are able to bring up any issues. As and open and transparent provider, we share any concerns or significant events that have occurred with our commissioning bodies.
