Our Philosophy for practice and recruitment
At Malling Health we run 17 GP practices and 9 GP led Health Centre’s (GPLHC). Our services are a mixture of nGMS and APMS contracts providing NHS services for patients. The GPLHC’s provide traditional general practice to registered patients as well as walk in services for both registered and non registered patients. Some of our GPLHC’s are open 12 hours/day 365 days a year. Our Centre’s provide convenient, local and easy to access healthcare for everyone in the area. Our GP practices run registered lists with some extended hours in most centres.
Our philosophy is to provide high quality primary care services to patients with methods that match the best aspects of traditional partnerships. At the heart of the provision is the patient, closely followed by the GP.
GPs are increasingly seeking a fulfilling and varied career. Our aim is to assist development and create a long term mutually beneficial career structure for GP’s with the drive and enthusiasm we seek in all. Our practices and GPLHC’s (once of a suitable size) have a lead GP at the head of the GP team and a lead nurse as well as a practice manager. These leads within the practice take the responsibility for the provision and running of the clinical service, meeting the contractual standards required and development of the practice over and above the contract basics to provide a wide a range of services. This creates a stimulating work environment and an economically sound practice. All GP's and team members are expected to become involved in service development be that in a clinical field, educational or a management/medico-political role. We have a track record of support and development. Examples include GP's being supported to become trainers, to provide enhanced sexual health services, minor surgery etc, and we have GP members on commissioning boards and LMC representatives. These examples encapsulate our philosophy that a holistic career structure for a GP is not the reserve of a partnership. In fact I have found being part of Malling Health more satisfying than 15 years in partnership!
Additional to the above we are developing services around our practices. We constantly looking for ways to be developing service be that through NHS service provisions such as smoking cessation, advanced ear care , nursing home or secure unit provision to name a few or through private services such as travel and insurance work and potentially through occupational health or private practice models.
From the above you will begin to see the exciting career opportunities we provide for the right applicants.
